I just wanted to wish everyone a happy St. Patricks Day. Today is one of the biggest days to party here in my city, next to Grand Prix Weekend.
Interestingly enough, and I didn’t know this before, the main reason we celebrate St. Patty’s Day is it commemorates the arrival of Christianity in Ireland and was made an official holiday in the 17th century by the Catholic church. It really is true when they say that the society in which we live is predicated on Judeo-Christian values.
Even days that are now just about getting drunk and partying as well as making money for the local nightlife establishments are typically based on super important concepts of the past.
Either way, it’s funny how things evolve over time.
